Cellulite Therapy

Recently imported from Switzerland, acoustic wave therapy (AWT) represents a new approach to cellulite treatment. Through AWT, women can achieve smoother skin in the areas where cellulite commonly forms — the thighs, buttocks, abdomen and arms.

AWT uses a ballistic medical device to generate pressure waves that pass through the skin and fat to impact the fibrous septae, the major cause of the “puckering” of cellulite. This causes a break-up of the collagen of the septae and releases the skin - producing a smoother surface. AWT also helps to thicken the dermis, decreasing fat protrusion. The procedure takes about 20 minutes for every area treated. The treatments are very well tolerated, with only very mild discomfort from the pulsations. Treatments are given twice a week for three weeks.  We recommend that patients have a maintenance session once every 3 months after completing the initial program.

Clinical results in Europe and the United States show that AWT patients typically experience improvement in skin texture, skin elasticity, dermal firming and circumference reduction.
